How to join and use video coaching sessions
Video Calls
Coachive has built-in video calling so you can meet with your coach without leaving the platform.
Joining a Session
Before the Session
- You'll receive a reminder email 24 hours and 1 hour before
- A Join Call button appears 15 minutes before the session
- Test your camera and microphone beforehand
Starting the Call
- Go to Dashboard > Sessions
- Find your upcoming session
- Click Join Call when it's time
- Allow camera and microphone access when prompted
Video Call Features
Camera & Microphone
- Toggle camera: Turn video on/off
- Toggle microphone: Mute/unmute yourself
- Camera selection: Choose between multiple cameras
- Microphone selection: Choose your input device
Screen Sharing
Share your screen to:
- Show documents or presentations
- Walk through websites or apps
- Collaborate on visual materials
To share:
- Click the Share Screen button
- Select what to share (entire screen, window, or tab)
- Click Stop Sharing when done
Virtual Background
- Blur your background for privacy
- Use a virtual background image
Chat
Use the in-call chat for:
- Sharing links
- Taking notes
- Asking questions without interrupting

Internet Connection
- Minimum: 1.5 Mbps up/down
- Recommended: 3+ Mbps for HD video
Hardware
- Webcam (built-in or external)
- Microphone (built-in or external)
- Speakers or headphones
Troubleshooting
Camera or Microphone Not Working
- Check browser permissions (look for camera icon in address bar)
- Make sure no other app is using the camera
- Try refreshing the page
- Restart your browser
Poor Video Quality
- Check your internet connection
- Close other applications using bandwidth
- Turn off HD video if needed
- Move closer to your router
Audio Echo
- Use headphones instead of speakers
- Mute when not speaking
- Check for duplicate browser tabs
Connection Issues
- Refresh the page
- Check your internet connection
- Try a different browser
- Contact support if issues persist

- Good lighting: Face a window or use a lamp
- Quiet environment: Minimize background noise
- Stable setup: Use a tripod or stable surface
- Eye contact: Look at the camera, not the screen
- Be prepared: Have water and materials ready
