Stripe Setup
To receive payments for your coaching sessions, you'll need to connect a Stripe account. Here's how to set it up.
Why Stripe?
We use Stripe to handle payments because:
- Secure: Industry-leading payment security
- Fast payouts: Get paid quickly to your bank
- Global: Works in 40+ countries
- Transparent: Clear fees and reporting
Connecting Stripe
Step 1: Go to Settings
- Navigate to Coach Dashboard > Settings
- Find the Payments or Stripe section
- Click Connect with Stripe
Step 2: Create or Connect Account
You'll be redirected to Stripe to either:
- Create a new account - If you don't have Stripe
- Connect existing - If you already use Stripe
Step 3: Verify Your Identity
Stripe requires identity verification:
Personal Information:
- Legal name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Last 4 digits of SSN (US) or equivalent
Business Information:
- Type (individual or business)
- Industry (coaching/consulting)
- Website (optional)
Bank Account:
- Bank name
- Routing number
- Account number
Step 4: Complete Verification
Stripe may require:
- Photo ID (driver's license, passport)
- Proof of address
- Business documents (if applicable)
Verification usually completes within 1-2 business days. You can still accept bookings while waiting.
Step 5: Confirmation
Once connected:
- You'll see "Stripe Connected" in settings
- Your dashboard shows payout information
- You can start accepting paid sessions

Accessing Stripe Dashboard
From Coach Dashboard > Settings > Payments:
- Click View Stripe Dashboard
- Or go directly to dashboard.stripe.com
What You Can Do in Stripe
- View all transactions
- Check payout schedule
- Download tax documents
- Update bank information
- Manage account settings
Payout Schedule
When You Get Paid
Default payout schedule:
- US coaches: 2-day rolling payouts
- International: Varies by country (typically 7 days)
Changing Payout Schedule
In Stripe Dashboard:
- Go to Settings > Payouts
- Choose your schedule:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
Minimum Payout
- No minimum payout amount
- Payouts happen automatically on schedule
- Small amounts accumulate if below bank's threshold
Understanding Fees
Platform Fee
Coachive charges a platform fee:
- 15% of each session payment
- Covers: payment processing, platform maintenance, marketing
Example Calculation
For a $100 session:
- You receive: $85 (85%)
- Platform fee: $15 (15%)
The platform fee includes Stripe's processing fee, so you keep a flat 85%.
No Hidden Fees
- No monthly fees
- No setup fees
- No payout fees
- Just the transparent platform percentage
Tax Information
US Coaches: 1099-K
If you earn $600+ in a calendar year:
- Stripe sends a 1099-K form
- Report this income on your taxes
- Available in Stripe Dashboard by January 31st
International Coaches
Tax requirements vary by country:
- Keep your own records
- Consult a local tax professional
- Stripe provides transaction history for records
Downloading Tax Documents
- Go to Stripe Dashboard
- Click Documents
- Download available tax forms
Troubleshooting
"Stripe Not Connected"
If your Stripe disconnects:
- Go to Settings > Payments
- Click Reconnect Stripe
- Re-authenticate your account
Verification Failed
If Stripe can't verify you:
- Double-check all information is accurate
- Ensure ID photo is clear and valid
- Contact Stripe support for specific issues
Payout Delayed
Payouts can be delayed due to:
- Bank holidays
- First payout (takes longer)
- Account issues (check Stripe email)
- Verification requirements
Wrong Bank Account
To update your bank:
- Go to Stripe Dashboard
- Settings > Bank accounts
- Add new account
- Remove old account (after verifying new one works)
Security
Keeping Your Account Safe
- Use a strong, unique password for Stripe
- Enable two-factor authentication
- Don't share login credentials
- Monitor for suspicious activity
Fraud Protection
Stripe includes:
- Fraud detection
- Dispute management
- Chargeback protection
If you receive a fraudulent payment or dispute:
- Don't panic - it's handled through Stripe
- Provide requested documentation

Supported Countries

Currency
- Clients pay in their currency
- You receive in your local currency
- Stripe handles conversion automatically
- Small forex fee may apply
